American Assassin is the new motion picture from CBS Films, based on the book by the late political novelist, Vince Flynn. American Assassin is an action thriller directed by Michael Cuesta (L.I.E) featuring Dylan O'Brien (The Maze Runner) as the counter-terrorist agent Mitch Rapp and his trainer Stan Hurley played by Michael Keaton (The Founder/Beetlejuice).

Dylan O’Brien is best known for his role as Stiles on Teen Wolf and as Thomas in The Maze Runner films. Michael Keaton scored an Oscar nomination for his role as Riggan Thomson in Alejandro G Inarritu’s Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance, 2014).

American Assassin contains music from the UK world and folk label ARC Music’s catalogue with a track called ‘Sevin Gayri’ [Be Happy Now] from the album ‘Popular Turkish Folk Songs’. ‘Sevin Gayri’ was written by composer Vivienne Doğan-Corringham and Eastern music multi-instrumentalist  George Hadjineophytou. Vivienne Doğan-Corringham is based in London where she leads the group Shimal who reinterpret traditional Turkic music in the light of contemporary, urban experience. George Hadjineophytou began playing bouzouki at a very early age and has since mastered the oud, the stringed bowed kemence and the plucked string cura.

The movie becomes the latest in a long line of Hollywood projects to source music from West Sussex-based record label ARC Music. Previous placements include The Legend of Hercules, Skyfall, Zero Dark Thirty, The Dictator, and Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Conan The Barbarian 3D,Machine Gun Preacher  and many more.

American Assassin also stars Sanaa Lathan, Shiva Negar, and Taylor Kitsch and will be released worldwide through Lionsgate Distribution on September 15, 2017.
