Echoes of the Orient – Katie Yao Morgan

Echoes of the Orient – the debut album from pianist Katie Yao Morgan – releases on Naxos World on July 25th, 2025. Echoes of the Orient is a musical reminiscence composed by Morgan’s onetime tutor and longtime friend, Angeline Bell. The album draws inspiration from various elements that evoke a sense of belonging and nostalgia. These recollections and reflections of Angeline’s homeland, Malaysia, and East Asia in general, drive the music of the album.

A.G.A Trio - Meeting

For thousands of years, there have been many cross-encounters over the mountainous border of Europe and Asia. During peaceful times, people danced hand-in-hand in village squares; during wars and genocide, lamentations were sung from caravans seeking safer lands. A.G.A Trio is formed by three virtuoso musicians who have pieced together tales of self-discovery, heritage, love songs of bards, laments for the fallen, respect for nature and ultimately, the meeting of peoples across the beautiful Caucasus mountains.

New Album: Melodic Circles / Iranian Urban Classical Music from Master Musicians Mehdi & Adib Rostami

‘Melodic Circles’ is the new album written and produced by two classically trained Iranian musicians, cousins Mehdi Rostami & Adib Rostami. Both are masters of their instruments: Mehdi plays the Iranian member of the lute family, the setār while Adib accompanies on the tombak goblet drum. The roots of ‘Melodic Circles’ lie in traditional Kurdish music from the Fars Province, widely considered the cultural capital of Iran.
